The closest: The Hickory Tree Shopping Center, one mile from the venue, offers several excellent options: Tolima, at 641 Shunpike Road, Chatham, is an upscale American Regional restaurant in an intimate storefront setting . Charlie Brown's Steakhouse, at 522 Southern Boulevard, offers an informal and reasonably-priced general menu and a large salad bar. Saladworks, a healthy sandwich-and-salad restaurant, is open until 8PM on Saturdays, and Nine Thai, which features both Thai and Sushi, is open until 11PM on Saturdays. In Downtown Chatham: Downtown Chatham, about 2 miles from us, features the very upscale Restaurant Serenade and Scalini Fideli (reserve weeks in advance for Scalini); the upscale but moderately-priced Danielle's Bistro and three ethnic restaurants: A Taste of Asia (Pan-Asian), Bean Curd (Chinese), and New Main Taste (Thai). In Downtown Madison: Downtown Madison, also about 2 miles from us, is full of restaurants. Our favorite is The Garlic Rose, a bustling storefront bistro where all the dishes are made with garlic. Reservations are a must. Soho 33 features a stylish eclectic menu and sleek interior at moderate prices. Poor Herbie's, 13 Waverly Place, is a local favorite tavern featuring hamburgers and hearty informal dining. For an after-concert drink: Charlie Brown's or Poor Herbie's (both above) and Charlie's Aunt, on Passaic Avenue in Chatham, offer a reasonably quiet place to meet after the show. We have found that Charlie Brown's often closes before 11 on Saturday nights, despite its posted closing times. For after-concert diner food: In Madison, the Nautilus Diner on Main Street. And at 55 River Road in Summit (just down the street from us going away from Chatham and Madison), the Broadway Diner is famous for its pancakes. Just hold off on dessert...we've got home-baked goodies at intermission, included with your ticket price!
